Fiction . . .
Fiction Projects
John has several projects at various stages of development, but is focusing his efforts on a young adult adventure with enough rip and roar to scare off an entire pride of lions.
At 45,000 words, it's about 30,000 shy of the finishing post. The plan is for a series of books based on the same characters, and plotting for book two is coming along nicely.
Book one should be completed by the end of 2008 and the search for an agent is underway.
John's other projects include a second young adult novel, two dark and harrowing crime novels, and a thriller set in a somewhat unusual prison.
He's also looking at merging the fantasy and crime genres, with a cross between The Lord of the Rings and The Godfather. But the less said about that one, the better.
Scripts
In the two minutes and forty five seconds he has spare each day, John is collaborating (slowly) with a fellow writer on two script ideas. At the current rate of progress, the movies should be at a cinema near you sometime in 2024.
One will be a hard-edged, ice-cool western, the other a laugh-a-minute family film, with Imps. Keep an eye out for them.
